Face Your Food

Acapulco Market

This vibrant painting resembles an Acapulco market. Where else can you buy a piñata, a leather wallet, a basket,  a hammock, an amulet to attract a lover and another to  ward off enemies, and a velvet painting of Virgin of Guadalupe (besides Wal-Mart)? Not to mention, you can walk out with an assortment of vegetables, meat, fish, fruit, home baked goods, and fresh cut flowers. You name it, they have it. If you are expecting to "haggle" prices, then this place is not for you. Unlike flea markets, the sales people are not pushy. The products speak for themselves.

This mid-century painting portrays the pure essence of life, nourishment and companionship. Too often we forget to acknowledge the source of our nourishment. It is markets like this that allow us to put a face to our food.

Fountain Watercolor

Make a Wish

Fountains are a symbol of rejuvenation. No matter what age you are, you still think about tossing a coin in the bubbling water when you walk by a fountain and making a wish. What if your wishes came true? You could spend the rest of your life sailing around the world with your handsome husband. Or you'd be able to have one last dance with your father. Or you'd finally get to ride in a hot air balloon. Whatever your wishes are, it is important to never stop wishing as you get older.

This beautiful expressionist painting of a fountain is signed by the artist Francis Chapin and includes a gold leaf frame.
